Water Taxi Osaka

Our Story

About 35 years ago, 2 Venetian boats were imported by a major import car dealership in Nagoya. One is  30 feet in size which is our boat, and another is 18-19 feet in size.

For about 10 years since those boats were imported from Italy, they were displayed at a showroom along with luxury cars.  The hull was quite damaged, and the engine was immobile, so we asked a ship carpenter to restore it in Yokohama. We replaced mechanical parts such as the engine and V drive with new ones at our company.

The engine is Mercury (MERCURY Scorpion 350 377 models) that has a gasoline V8 engine, with a maximum output of 5,200 RPM. It features a large torque with a sense of security.

After that, a company doing sightseeing development in Nagoya purchased it.

The company were planning to do a transportation ship for  Legoland and Nagoya port sightseeing business, and other sightseeing business, however, it did not lead to realization due to problems such as permission and then, we purchased it later.

When we restored the boat, we sent an inquiry to a wood-boat maker in Italy to ask if there’s a chance to get a mahogany frame windshield. At that time, we figured out that the boat was made by a ship craftsman, Mr. Franco D’Este, who worked for cmg(cantiere motonautico giudecca, and was a friend of a former owner of Cantiere nautico Tagliapietra s.r.l.

Mr. Franco passed away a few years ago, we were happy to know who made our boat.

We established a shipping company “Da-ZERO Co., Ltd.” to make Osaka like Venice by riding this beautiful classic Venice ship “motoscafo.”

“Da-ZERO” means “starting from zero” in Italian.

We always keep in mind the dream of the beginning of the founding and keep our cruise that never forget our first resolution.

At present, we are developing cruises in Osaka city and the bay area.

While working little by little, the days of careful repairing continues.

We hope that you will enjoy your sightseeing in Osaka city from a different view getting on our Osaka water limousine,  which inherited the passion to canals in Venice.

Our Plan

[ANNIVERSARY PLAN]
Our boat is a water taxi that was active in the water transportation in Venice.
The features of this water taxi are the following two points.
1) Low hull which can pass all the low bridges of Venice
2) The cabin is a spacious even for eight adults.
Therefore, taking advantage of this feature of being able to pass through the low bridge that exists in Osaka, we became the first luxury boat that you can get on board while wearing a wedding dress.
In other words, it is possible to get on the boat with the dress and go to “Glico Sign” and “Dotonbori” which are the mecca of sightseeing in Osaka.
Dotonbori has many locals and tourists visiting the waterways as a gallery, cruising slowly through the middle of the waterway will definitely be a special memory for you.

[URBANCITY DAY or NIGHT CRUISE]
There are two attractions in waterways of Osaka.
One is the classic, calm urban city, and the other is the colorful Dotonbori neighborhood.
From now on, we will tell you the highlights of the two cruises.
1) Classic Urban City Cruise
There are three ports of departure and arrival: Hachikenyahama Terminal, Hotarumachi Terminal, and Roseport.
Hachikenyahama Terminal was called “Hachikenyahama” in the Edo period, as there were eight boathouses in the same area, and became the terminal of Sanjikkokubune linking Kyoto (Fushimi) and Osaka. It is famous for a place that has prospered as a key point of Yodogawa shipping.
Even now, it is the largest landing port in Osaka city, and there is a castle hotel in front.
There is “Temma Bridge” upstream of “Hachikenyahama Bridge”, and there are “Tenjin Bridge” and “Namba Bridge” downstream of “Hachikenyahama Bridge.” Also, at night, the light is beautifully fascinated.
“Temma Bridge” brings up “Temma Kiriko pattern” as Temma is said to be the birthplace of glass.
Tenjin Bridge is a bridge that spans the Dojima River on the north side of Nakanoshima and the Tosabori River on the south side. The orange light with the theme of the Tenjin Festival held in summer is represented.
The “Namba Bridge” highlights heavy stone columns and other areas with natural light, and lights up the lower part of the bridge as a“light tunnel.”
In addition, since the lion statue is arranged at the four corners of the bridge, it is known as the nickname “Lion Bridge”.

The standing out Renaissance style brick building located on Nakanoshima island is Osaka Central Public Hall.

It is an important cultural asset of the country opened on November 17, 1918.

There are “large meeting room, middle meeting room, small meeting room, special room”, etc. in the building, and it is a very valuable facility that anyone can use as a rental room.

In fact, Osaka Central Public Hall was completed based on the donation of one Osaka citizen “Iwamoto Einosuke”.

2) Gorgeous Dotonbori neighborhood
At first we go south to “Higashiyokobori River” which was the outer moat of the old Osaka Castle.
Before entering the waterway, pass one of the water gates in Osaka city.
The rivers of Nakanoshima are directly connected to the sea, the water level fluctuates due to the relationship between the tides.
However, the Higashiyokobori River and the Dotonbori River are connected, and it is like a “pond” divided by two water gates. The water level of this waterway is constant, so if there is a difference in tide level with the river, it will be adjusted by this watergate. By the way, on the way to the south of the Higashiyokobori  River, you can experience the waterways of Osaka, which was once referred to as “Happyakuyabashi.”  You will pass 15 bridges. Gradually the feeling of excitement grows, and finally we change the course west and enter Dotonbori.

The lights are lit up again at night, and doubles its beauty.
Glico signs lights up 30 minutes after sunset, please be careful when booking. In the evening there are many galleries on both sides of the waterway, it gives a very good sense of superiority.
